John Brown creates contemporary figurative sculptures expressing emotions and relationships. These range from small maquettes (working models) to larger sculptures for the home, garden or office, in a range of materials including foundry cast bronze, stone, and bronze resin.
Born in 1931, John Brown studied sculpture at Hornsey School of Art. He continued his art education under Howard Bate R.A. at Hampstead Garden Suburb Institute. He has undertaken numerous public and corporate commissions for schools, hospitals, churches and corporates. The latter include commissions for SmithKline Beecham; Racing Green (Bluewater Retail Park); Investec- City HQ; the Prudential Insurance Company; the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Marlow; and Kawaguchi Metal Industries, Japan.
Private collectors of his work include Sir Elton John, Simon Cowell, Andrew Castle, and Lesley Ash.
