The summer exhibiton 'People & Pots' marries the work of abstract figurative sculptor John Brown, with wood-fired stoneware pots by Chris Lewis. Large works by both artists will be exhibited in the garden, with smaller works displayed in the gallery.

London artist, John Brown, is best known for his contemporary figurative sculpture which expresses emotions and relationships. The exhibition will feature some of his garden sculptures and unique stone carvings. Private collectors of his work include Sir Elton John, Simon Cowell, Andrew Castle, and Lesley Ash.

Chris Lewis works from his pottery in East Sussex where he has been creating wood-fired pots and sculptural pieces for the garden since 1976. His pots are covered in ash and embers during the course of their 3-4 day firings; a method which results in beautiful surface patination and texture, and which gives each piece a unique character.

In the gallery we will be exhibiting the work of East Anglian sculptor, Neal French FRBS, including a maquette of his recent commission for Tiptree,'Fruit Picker', plus some of his clay studies and maquettes for this commission. And sculptural pots by Stephanie Wright and local artist, Anne-Marie Jacobs.

Private View: Saturday 19th July, from 2.30 - 4.30pm, with strawberries and Pimms. The exhibition continues on Saturdays, 11am - 4.30pm and by appointment, until 31 August.
