Kate Reynold's sculptural ceramics utilise white and turquoise crackle glazes and smoke effects derived from the ancient techniqe of Raku firing.
Her subjects range from birds (most recently), to busts and portraits, and two-dimensional wall tiles. She has also produced large-scale commissions for both private and public sites.
After completing an Art Foundation at Suffolk College, Ipswich, Kate studied 3D Design and Ceramics at Brighton Ploytechnic (BA Hons - 1980-83) and then undertook an MA in Ceramics at the Cardiff Institute (1983-84). From 1984-86 she was 'Resident Artist' at the Chapter Arts Centre, Cardiff. She subsequently taught 3D design and ceramics at various educational institutions, including the Colchester Institute (1987-2011).
Kate exhibits nationally and internationally and is a member of the Suffolk Craft Society, the Ipswich Arts Society, and the Suffolk Group.
