September 2020. Maurice Blik has been commissioned to produce an annual bronze trophy for the English National Ballet 'Emerging Dancer' competition, taking place at the company's new facilities at London City Island on 22 September.
Depicting a male and female dancer, the trophy, measuring 33cm in height, was sculpted in clay and has been cast at the Bronze Age Foundry in Limehouse, London.
This year's Emerging Dancer event is likely to be live-streamed due to Covid restrictions. For more information please visit www.ballet.org.uk
A selection of Maurice Blik's sculpture, including an artist's cast of the ENB trophy and four new works, will be exhibited at Sculpt Gallery from 3-17 October. Open Saturdays, 11:00 - 16:00 and by arrangement.
